International, NSE, and Exchange Student/Staff Orientation
Fall Semester Orientation begins Saturday, September 1, 2007

An orientation program for new NSE & international exchange visitors and international students, faculty and staff will be held over the course of several days before classes begin.

For the Fall 2007 semester, orientation activities will begin on Saturday, September 1st at 1:30 p.m.

 

How do I get to UMF?

There will be a shuttle pickup in Portland, Maine on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Therefore, please plan to arrive in Portland, Maine on Friday August 31st and spend an overnight, or in time for the shuttle pickup on Saturday, September 1st at 10:00 a.m..  You must contact us as soon as you know your arrival information. Early arrivals are only available when approved well in advance. 

For more information about travel by bus or train between Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine visit the websites of Vermont Transit, Greyhound, Concord Trailways, or Amtrak.

NOTE: There is no public transportation between Farmington, ME and Portland, ME

 

Returning Home:

At the end of the semester, return transportation to the train, bus station and airport in Portland, Maine will be available on the morning after classes end and you should plan your return trip accordingly. If you decide to stay and travel within the U.S. after that date (limited to 30 days), you may do so, but you would be required to make your own arrangements for travel to and from Portland and your departure city.
